take a round cake pan, and drill 3 small holes around the top of it, space them out evenly around the pan, then take your string or chain ever how you want to fasten it, let it come up like a triangle, hang it up and fill it full of water, and then set your feeder down in it, ands will not cross water, it aint as pretty hanging up, but thats the only way i found to keep ants out, you can also do that to your dog food and cat food you set outside to keep the ants out of it, put your dog dish or cat dish down in a pan of water. hope this helps.
