';Natural Looking';. Thats simple. You need a branch or log. Aquire it from your yard or a park/wildlife area. Make sure to ask permision from the park personel first. It only needs to be 4 inches in diameter and 4 foot in length. Cut it into 3 pieces. Two pieces 1 foot long and one 2 foot piece. Construct it into a U shape. The horizontal piece drill holes in the top and pour seeds into those holes for the seed eating birds. The vertical pieces drill holes in the sides and fill with suet or peanut butter for the woodpeckers, etc. Its that simple and cheap. Good luck to you on your bird photos. How do i make a natural looking bird feeder?
Well, this isn't a sturdy idea but I thought Id share it with you anyway. Super easy and really cool, all you need is a grape fruit, a dowel and a rubber-band or string, Just cut the fruit in half, empty the meat of the fruit, stick it on the dowel like a bowl, place string or rubber-band bellow grapefruit to keep from sliding down the dowel, fill with seed and stick in the yard! The birds enjoy the fruit as well as the seed! Hope you enjoy this fun, easy idea, happy bird watching! LOL
It doesn't take much. Just a piece of 2X8 about 12'; long, hollow out the top inch leaving about a 1/2'; rim around the outside. A couple metal braces under the window or a couple of triangle pieces of wood to brace it. You should add one way film to the window so the birds will not flee from you movement inside. It is available at any hardware store.
