I have hummingbirds year round (in CA) and I change mine about every 3-4 days. I had my feeder out for about 2 weeks before anyone ';found'; it..now I have 3 hummers fighting over it. Give it some time. How often do you have to change the nector in a humming bird feeder .?
When the color fades
Every few days, especally if its hot out side. The sugar will ferment and the birds will get sick. If you havent ween any hummers in the area the feeder itself will not attract them.
go to wildbirdshop.com for great info on humming birds also a lot more great ones if you look. depending on where you are at it may be to late in the year to attract any best time to start in my area in early spring I made the same mistake last year I started to late, good luck!
i do mine once a week but i also check to see if the sugar water hasn't crystallized or if ants have found their way in some how ,,,,,alot of times they go in thru the top opening.....bees are a huge problem too..so i check it often to make sure its clean,,,,,,,,
You should change it at least once a week. You may just have not seen any yet..They are wonderful to watch..I set feeders out every year from march to october. I live in alabama and have long summers..Once they come to feed..they will stay and come back each year if you keep your feeders out.
