Would a rat climb a small tree and eat from a bird feeder?

I had two rodent climb a small weeping cherry tree together and eat nuts from the bird feeder.


I'm not an expert but they looked like rats and had light coloured feet.Would a rat climb a small tree and eat from a bird feeder?

Oh yes!!. You have provided a source of food so more will come. They climb on trees, fences, roofs, I have seen them scale up stucco walls to get through a vent hole. Move the feeder around to a different spot .

They are either rats or mice.I live in the countryside and I usually get the little basterds climbing up a tree and taking nuts out of a bird feeder
