Can I hang a humming bird feeder next to a regular bird feeder?

Are humming birds so territorial that they cannot share their space with other regular birds? Can I hang a humming bird feeder next to a regular bird feeder?
I have the seedfeeder and the sugarwater hung about 6 feet apart, no problem. One side of the patio is thick with brush, the other side is a clear escape route.

You have the same territorial problems as I do. My most common hummers are the Rufous and Calliope. If I hang feeders on opposite sides of the house, one bird will plant itself so it can guard both feeders. Or it watches through the windows to the other side. All summer is spent chasing, using up what little energy reserves they have -- you'd think they'd give it a rest!

I would hang the humming bird feeder separate.
Of course. I have two Hummin' bird feeders and they are both nexto bird feeders and the Ruby-Throated hummingbirds fight over them. Once I had ten females fighting for them. They are self-centered and usually only one gets a drink at a time.
I would put a little bit of space between them...not right next to each other. I have my suet feeder and hummingbird feeder about 6-7 feet apart and so far the hummers are fine with it even though there are some large birds eating at the suet feeder.
No, they are easily scared by other birds of larger size or any nearby motion at all.
it depends on how bad the humming bird hums
I hung 2 finch feeders and 1 hummingbird feeder about 6 feet from the feeder containing sunflower oilers. So far, I have spotted 2 yellow finches but no hummingbirds. I am going to move the feeder another 2 feet away just to make sure the cardinals are not scaring the hummingbirds away.
