I love the songbirds in the mornings, but I've quickly discovered how much bird seed they can consume! I really love watching them so how often should I refill or should I just fill it up everytime it becomes empty. (of course, I may go broke!)How often should I refill the bird feeder with seed?
I have the same issue and have decided not to refill more often than every 2 days. There ARE other food sources around, the birds will not starve just because your feeder is empty part of the time.
During late May and early June I'll refill it more often because I know that there are extra mouths to be fed back at the nests. How often should I refill the bird feeder with seed?
Whenever it is empty or very close to it.
i would wait till it was almost empy
wild birds should not be feed more than three times a week, or else they stop foraging for food and rely on you as their only food sorce.
If you like them in the mornings only put out a bit for them to eat at that time and the rest of the day leave empty.
Very easy, just fill it when it will hold some.
As the bird feeder gets empty.. u have to refill it...... that all
You fill it in the winter time only. [Or you might go broke] In the summer time fill the birdbath. If you want a certain type of bird to view, look up what that bird likes, %26amp; try to get that seed only. Try suet cakes, instead, see how economical they are vs. the seed.
When it runs out of seed
Yes, when they've eaten what you put out there. If you can't afford them, just don't stop feeding them in the middle of the winter - they won't be able to forage for themselves if you stop at that point.
if it is not gone with in 2 days refill it just to be safe
