Do you know how to keep starlings away from a bird feeder?

Startlings come in flocks to my bird feeder,do you know to keep them away without hurting them?Do you know how to keep starlings away from a bird feeder?
Starlings eat millet and cracked corn. If you put only sunflower seeds in they usually will go away. Also, most of your song birds love sunflower seeds.Do you know how to keep starlings away from a bird feeder?
Starlings are birds, too, and don't realize they aren't welcome.

Why not realize that as long as you have a bird feeder, all beings will come to it, including squirrels and larger birds. You can hang another feeder to split the flock and give more food to the other birds, you could feed a cheaper mix or buy in larger quantities to save money. This is spring, and all the birds (and squirrels, too) are going to need extra fats and proteins to mate and raise families of babies.

So I hope you leave the bird feeder and are using a mix with added calcium.

Thanks for not wanting to hurt the starlings.
Hey silverbullets maybe we should rocks at you! I hate dumb a$$ answers.

Heres the thing, if you have a bird feeder and you dont want the starlings there then anything I would recommend will also scare the other birds that you do want away. There is no good way just to keep Starlings away, other then removing the feeder.

Buy some pop bottle rockets and shoot them off at the same time each day, preferable time to do this is at dusk, hoping that maybe they will leave and find a different place to roost. Or you can use any noise affect, it seems to work.
