We have had a hummingbird feeder for over a year, and today we bought a regular bird feeder. The problem is, we only have two trees, and they are very close together. Is it okay for the two different kinds of feeders to be near each other? Is it okay for a regular bird feeder and a hummingird feeder to be close together?
I have both suet and hummingbird feeder in my yard hanging about 7-8 feet apart and have not had any problems. The birds usually stick to the proper feeder and don't bother each other. The hummingbird will occassionally check out the suet feeder when his runs out of nectar. Is it okay for a regular bird feeder and a hummingird feeder to be close together?
No it makes no difference. I have both a regular feeder and a hummingbird feeder. Right now the hummers are on the nest so they don't visit much. So don't worry, both feeders will be fine together. Mine are less than 5 feet apart in a peach tree. I put cooking oil on the hummingbird feeder so that the ants don't get into the nectar. Hope this helps.
Yes it is fine. I have a double hook shepherds crook that holds both my regular bird feeder and my hummingbird feeder. Both feeders are active and I have not had any problems
