How to get birds to come by your bird feeder?

I live in a apartment so I had to put my bird feeder right outside my window. I wanted a bird feeder for my cat. No birds have came (that I saw). Its been there for about two months.

Is there anyway, any tricks to make the birds come!?How to get birds to come by your bird feeder?
If your cat is very visible at the window, that could be a deterrent - though birds can be pretty smart about knowing that the cat can't get to them. You could try putting a reflective one-way film on the window so they can't see in.

If possible, try scattering some feed below the window. That should attract more birds to the area and increase the chances of their finding your feeder.

You might also look at what you are feeding them versus the type of birds you are trying to attract. Birds can have varying feed preferences.

You would do better to replace the food every week because they do not like old or mildewed food.

It may be that the birds do not like the close proximity to your building but do continue to put out fresh food every week and when they get used to finding it there they are more likely to come back.

I had to leave a hummingbird feeder out for several months before the birds found it! They are not known for their big brains! ;-) Good luck!
The birds may be afraid of the cat. They would be checking into the windows before approaching any ledge, so get rid of the cat.
dont touch it a lot of they will get your human , put it away from you house, on a tree
