There is something getting into my birdfeeder almost every night. And we are pretty sure its a raccoon. It took a suet feeder totally off the tree and we haven't seen it since. I want to get rid of it without trapping or killing it. Can anyone help me?How Do I Get Rid Of A Raccoon In My Bird Feeder Without Killing It?
I have not affilliation with the company below, but they look to have a great product for ridding raccoons in a safe and humane way. Also you might check out some raccoon and squirrel proof feeders. Good Luck.\

once raccoons become attuned to people as an easy food source, they will not go away. He will be into your trash, eat dogfood/catfood and may very well find a way into your house. He may already be living in your soffet, crawl space or attic. In fact, may be a female with 5-10 young baby raccoons ready to extend the curse to the entire neighborhood. Raccoons carry diseases that can be dangerous to people and pets. They don't mix with people!! So why are you so concerned that the raccoon makes it out alive!?
I don't have anything against them by love to trap them and know my way around a raccoon pretty well. Your removing that raccoon and transplanting it is only going to extend the problem to somebody else. I don't know where you live, but if you have one giving you trouble, there probably isn't a place withing a couple days drive that has a shortage.
The best thing for you to do would have been to find a local trapper when the season was in to remove them for free(if you have one you have a half dozen in your yard). Now you'll likely have to pay a nice price to have damage control company do the job.
