How can I build a bird feeder out of something other than wood?

Hi I want to make a bird feeder but not out of wood. Just out of something easy like a milk carton. Do you know how or what to do?How can I build a bird feeder out of something other than wood?
You can use a two liter bottle and a pie pan. Fasten the bottle to the pie pan cut a hole for the food to come out, fill with food and hang from a tree. I was going to say a gallon milk jug. Cut a circle or square shape out of the side opposite the handle, leaving about 3 inches of plastic on all sides, except a bit more on the bottom side. Fill with no more than 2 inches of bird seed. Hang from fishing line in a tree, or just use one of those long ';S'; hook hangers with one hook on a small tree branch, the other hooked on the handle of the jug. A bonus is that squirrels shouldn't be able to get in either.
